Halloween throwback!
With hints of fall in the air - while it is what we here in the Midwest call “False Fall” - I have Halloween on my mind! Last year, I dressed up as Lofi Girl! I have been a fan of the channel for years and have the video playing for background music all the time! I didn’t have plans to dress up for Halloween, but after seeing the Instagram post about their costume contest AND realizing how easy and budget-friendly it would be to throw together I decided I had to! I already owned the headset as part of my gaming setup and the other components were things I could re-wear day-to-day (minus the wig…unless I just felt like it!), so I felt good knowing the items I bought wouldn’t be single-use items.

The
Scarf
For her iconic sorta-red sorta-pink scarf, I chose an infinity scarf from the brand C.C. I am a bit ashamed to admit that I, a knitter of 20+ years, didn’t make it myself, but I was worried about time and decided to purchase one premade rather than to risk not being able to finish knitting one before it was too late! I can be such a procrastinator.
This scarf is soft and cozy, and the perfect vibrant coral color that popped so well against the forest green sweatshirt. Click the link below to get the exact one!
The Sweatshirt
I went with a classic Hanes pullover crewneck in the color Deep Forest. It’s lightweight yet cozy, washes well, and is still in great shape all these months later! Green is my favorite color, so I reach for it often in the cooler months.
The link below will take you to the Amazon page to get your own- they have so many colors to choose from and they are incredibly affordable at $12! I’ll likely add a couple more to my closet for the fall at that price!
The Headset
As I mentioned, I already owned this over-ear headset by Status. They are the Core ANC model and are, unfortunately, currently unavailable, but the link is below in case they get restocked!
I could have modified these to look like hers, but to be honest, I just didn’t feel like it. Maybe if I wear this again I’ll add the other details!
The Wig
I found the perrrrrfect wig from LightInTheBox (I don’t have a link as it is no longer available on their site, but I have linked a similar one below!) which was inexpensive and of surprisingly good quality! All I had to do was trim the bangs and ponytail a little and it transformed me into Lofi Girl!
I gotta say, I loved how I looked with bangs in this costume, but bangs like this just don’t work with my real hair! It’s too fine and flat and the upkeep needed for bangs like this just isn’t for me!
I also wore a pair of these green and black retro striped crew socks with my outfit! I would have preferred to simply buy a single pair, but you know how these things go- it was more cost-effective to buy a pack than it was to buy just one pair, so that’s what I did!
Those few components made for an easy and fun Halloween costume! While I did enter the costume contest, I did not win a thing, but I still had fun playing dress up! Maybe I’ll add those details to the headset and re-enter this year!
